The meetings typically last one hour. Communicate clearly and directly. Tell your story. Tell them who you are, and why this issue is important to you. Be prepared. Have a prepared statement to speak from. Try to look up at the board and district staff while you’re speaking and not looking down the whole time at a piece of paper. Stick to facts and offer solutions or suggestions when possible. You’ll do great!
